I had a Nightmare

I had dream last night that for some reason I traded my E90 for a silver “maxima” except it was an Altima, but I always called it a maxima.

In the dream I was convinced that the “maxima” was a great car and would be just as fun to own and drive as my car. It wasn’t until I woke up that I realized this was actually a nightmare where I became a sad and boring little man.

Also I drove the E90 last night after finally getting new plugs and ignition coils, went ahead and changed the air filter too, I think I’ll do an oil change tonight. Man did I miss my car. My wife’s Fit is a fine car for her, but two weeks of driving it makes my AWD E90 feel like a legit sports car.

What’s worse is those dreams where you actually DO upgrade to a better car. When I still had my Escort, I had a dream that my cousin’s boyfriend (who is Australian) did a straight trade with me for a Laser TX3, for some reason. I woke up like.... whoa, I can’t wait to go drive my Laser! And then reality hit....

I remember dreaming once that I traded my (old) BRZ in on a Forester. I woke up supremely depressed only to realize that it was, in fact, a dream.

I had a similar experience with buying an S13 coupe. I even woke up and was confused as to why I couldn’t find the keys to my new S chassis

There’s a fine line here though...if it was a manual XT Forester then I at least wouldn’t have considered it a nightmare.

Yeah, it’s not to say the Fozzie isn’t a great car, because it is. It is a significant step down in the fun department from a highly-modified BRZ, though. Unfortunate ly, it was a naturally-aspirated model with a CVT.

Dreams like those will have you panicking and rushing to the garage to make sure that your car is still there. I had a similar dream where I traded in my FR-S for a manual Scion iM. In the dream, I even tried to rationalize the trade, despite the fact that I have no real use for an iM over the FR-S.

When I woke up, I ran to my garage to make sure I hadn't made the worst mistake of my life.
